| Barony 12th Night | Event date: January 12th, 2013 | Hosted by Barony of Smoking Rocks - Fairhaven, MA
| Event Last Modified: December 20th, 2012 | | | | Event details | | Greeting unto King Edward I, styled Longshanks, in the year of our lord 1290,
Toward the Great Cause, many great men step forth to strive for the Scottish throne, and as your sovereign representatives will be progressing through the countryside judging the worthiness of candidates for the selfsame throne, we present this invitation to a 12th night celebration in the town of Fairhaven in our Barony of Smoking Rocks. Men wishing to present their claim to the throne will gather amongst the celebrants and with feats of strategy and planning prove their worth during the games throughout the day. We shall invite them to take part in the games of log rolling and a rope pull, to test their wit and mind. The festivities will culminate in a feast of generous proportions and delectable flavors including such favorites as Haggis, cock-a-leeky soup, crowdie, and bannocks. We shall follow the traditions of our fair town, and after choice of the king and queen of the bean to rule by mischance throughout the day, the feast shall commence with the entrance of the green man and the burning of the Cailleach.
With sincerest regards from the people of our wondrous township.
The morning will be dedicated to quiet games of contemplation with music by Fracta modi to sooth the mind and humours. Physical games of balance and strategy shall follow in the afternoon, with dancing before feast. Please observe the ten foot rule at this event. This event does tend to sell out so get your preregistrations in early.
