|Hosted by Shire of Eisental - Lehighton, PA||Event Last Modified: May 7th, 2013|
|Not going to Germany this summer? Neither are we and while the King is away, His subjects will play…err, prepare! That’s it, prepare for War! |
Please join the Shire of Eisental at the Ukrainian Homestead in Lehighton, PA, our traditional site.
Our noble Captain of Archers Goerijs Goriszoon (The Unpronounceable) is hard at work assembling targets that we may practice and represent our Kingdom well on the range at Pennsic. Our new Marshal of Fence, James O’Galleghurre is making plans for the fencers of our Kingdom that they too may be ready.
Of course our list field will be ready for the fighters of the East to drill and improve their unit skills as battlefield scenarios are set.
And just so you don’t think the weekend will be all work…the East Kingdom Brewers Guild will host a beer tasting. Please be prepared to confirm you are able to avail yourself of their hospitality by showing your portrait with your birth year. Of course there will be merchants, the pool; a bonfire which we hope will draw bards, musicians and dancers as we toast Drachenwald on their 20th Anniversary.
To get the days combat underway, both the heavy list and rapier field will start with a tournament. The list fields will open at 9:30am and close at 10:30am with the tournaments commencing forthwith. Once everyone is warmed up, the practice for War will begin in the armored field and singles as well as melee practice will be held on the rapier field. Please check with our Knight Marshal Lord Michael Fitzgerald if you wish to set up a day shade.
Merchants are welcome; there is no charge but MERCHANTS MUST PRE-REGISTER with our Merchant Coordinator, Lady Mary of the Stewes, (email@example.com, 484-824-8496 before 9pm please) by June 16th. Please include “War Camp Merchanting” in your subject line on e-mails.
The site is wet; and the pool will be open however there will be no lifeguard on duty so no children without supervision. (There will be no swimming after dark.) Our site is also pet friendly as long as pets are well cared for, cleaned up after and not running loose on the site.
For those staying the weekend, we offer a hot breakfast buffet on Sunday morning which will serve as a fundraiser for the Children’s Fete at Pennsic.
It's a big site but not infinite. To avoid camping space conflicts, if you will need a large space for your camping group, you'll need to pre-register at least 10 people and include details with your reservation.
There are a limited number of modest motel rooms as well as other rooms offered by the Homestead available for an additional fee. Please contact Ellesbeth Donofrey for more information or to reserve. (firstname.lastname@example.org, 484-547-4367)
In order to speed up check in we will have a second gate set up at the list field for combatants arriving on Saturday morning.
