|Treffen der Clans ||Event date: September 13th, 2013 - September 15th, 2013|
|Hosted by Shire of Eisental - Lehighton, PA||Event Last Modified: September 8th, 2013|
|Throughout Europe, gatherings of various groups were held on an annual basis and where people would compete in tests of skill and to celebrate their differences as well as their kinship. The day will offer multiple opportunities for Clans, Households, Shires, Baronies, Kingdoms and the like as well as individuals to test themselves. For the fighters, a Pas d' Armes will be sponsored by the Mountain Confederation, to be witnessed by twelve good gentles selected that day who will judge the acts of chivalry by the combatants. In this spirit, the Shire of Eisental will be represented on the field against any who would take the challenge. So shine up your armor and prove your worth across the barricade for all to witness, and make this a tournament to remember. Think your unit is the toughest on the field? Enter the melee tournament and meet others who would contest your claim. Team size is anticipated to be six to eight,to be rounded out that day if necessary. Unaffiliated fighters to join teams, or they may assemble their own team. If you missed the wonderful archery range at our June event, set up by our Captain of Archers Goerijs Goriszoon (The Unpronounceable) you're in luck. He is planning a challenging but fun novelty shoot, a children's shoot and Royal Rounds. Royal Rounds will likewise be offered. Fencing and Thrown Weapons are being negotiated at this time. Check back in the September issue of Pikestaff for further details. |
A fighter's day-board will be served field side as well as a warm, light lunch in the hall To end the day the Shire will dig deep in their stores to produce a fine feast worthy of our guests. Per the Autocrat's request the menu will feature sauerbraten. Immediately following the feast an auction will be held for a variety of goods. There will be lots of baubles and things you didn't know you needed to bid on, so bring your gilder so we may try to part you from it. A Sunday morning breakfast will also be provided for all to enjoy before going on your way.
