Baronial Arts and Sciences championship:

The theme is Seeking Balance.  Many of us are skilled in certain venues, and I wish to see a broadening of our educational repertoire.  Therefore, each person entering the Scola A+S championship will be requested to enter 2 items, and the following requirements must be met:  Old and New- one item has to be from more than a year ago, and shown at least once in a prior A+S event, and the other must be never seen before.  Known and unknown- one item is something you are good at, the other must be a medium you are just starting to learn about.  Art and Science- one item must display a artistic quality, the other must have some aspect of the sciences involved (biology, chemistry, physics, math - would include cooking, brewing, etc).  Extra bonuses for edible items and making the tools to create your art.  Do your best at documenting everything, focus on where you got your inspiration, and cite sources, techniques used, and recipes.  Populace will judge and vote that day for their favorite entrants' items.

Baronial Bardic championship:

The theme for this year's competition is inspiration.  All entrants to this competition should prepare any of TWO of the following:  a poem, story, vocal song, or instrumental piece (self-composed is better, but not required).  These pieces should reflect the theme--inspiration and can include a work based on a person or activity associated with the Society that inspires you, or a piece that serves to inspire others.  The populace will vote for top three performers.  The vote tally will determine the first, second, and third places.  The top three ranked performers will be recognized and awarded in court.  The top seeded baronial member will become the new Bardic Champion.
