THERE WILL BE 5 BARONIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (4 Iron Bog & 1 Bhakail)
A&S:  The Barony of Iron Bog enjoys shining light on its Artisans and their work.  Therefore their Excellencies invite those talented in the arts to via for the title of Baronial A&S Champion.
Theme:  Colors provide more than just a means to making beautiful art, the symbolism they hold can completely change the entire meaning of a piece.  For example, red may symbolize luck, passion, violence, love, fire, or any number of other things.  White in European cultures represents purity, while in Chinese culture, is the color of mourning.  For this competition, create a piece of art from any culture or period (within the bounds of the SCA) that uses colors to add to or change the symbolism held within the piece.  All entries should include at least half a page explaining how the colors used would add meaning in the culture of the piece.  Tell us why you used the colors you did and how they affect the piece you created.

ARCHERY:  The Baron and Baroness of Iron Bog are seeking out the person who owns the arrows who fly in the truest of paths.  This skilled bowman will stand as the new Archery Champion of Iron Bog.
Theme:  GAMES!  The outgoing Champion of Iron Bog brings you a tournament to test your skill and quite possibly your luck.  Medieval Games and Modern Games with a Medieval Twist.  There will be several targets and station.  Each shoot will be based off a period game or a modern game reworked to be somewhat period.  There will be a heavy emphasis on strategy.

ARTISAN’S ROW:  Come learn!  Come teach!  Artisans this is a great place to Gather, Share, and Learn.

DANCING:  Instructions during the day in preparation for a MASK BALL taking place after Feast.

EQUESTRIAN:  Their Excellencies of Iron Bog wish to give honor to the Riders and Four Legged Athletes by holding a competition to determine the next Baronial Equestrian Champion.  Please come out and support Equestrian Activities as this is one of the few events in the Southern Region that hosts such activities.  If you wish to bring your horse(s) to this event, please contact the Equestrian Marshal-in-Charge, Doucette de Verdun chestnutmare@gmail.com, PRIOR to the event.  Per 4-H site rules, current Coggins and rabies certificate are required.  These can be submitted to the Equestrian Marshal-in-Charge in advance via email or prior to unloading your horse at the event.  Sorry, no rental horses are currently available for this event.

FENCING:  For the entertainment of their Excellencies and the gathered populous the Champions of Iron Bog & Bhakail will have a exhibition match of 5 passes.
Also planned by our MIC for the day, Don Collin Monroe of Tadcaster will host a ‘Body Parts’ Tournament.
Later there will be a broken field/capture the flag melee.  The field will be broken by random Lava Pits.  Touch a line and its back to the resurrection point for you.  And of course with Lava Pits comes Lava Otters!
In addition, Don Lorenzo will be holding a cut and thrust tourney that day for those authorized.
Time will also be set aside for Youth Fencing for those that are interested.

HEAVY COMBAT:  Friday 9/21:  Torch Light Tourney!  – Bring a drink for the Winner’s Chest.
Saturday 9/22:  The day will start off with a Tourney at 10:30am.  Followed by Melees!  Field, Bridge, and Keep.  Resurrections & Combat Archery Included.  Scenarios will be designed with the idea of being quick and fun.
Saturday Night 9/22:  Torch Light Tourney/Southern Region Champions – Sir Tanaka’s Mind will definitely add to the fun.

MERCHANTS – Merchants are welcome.  Be sure to come shop a bit

THROWN WEAPONS:  The Baronies of Bhakail and Iron Bog will each be holding a separate Tournament to determine their respective next Baronial Champion of Thrown Weapons.  The range will also be open to those that do not wish to take part in the Baronial Championships.

YOUTH:  Activities are being planned to focus on the youth’s fun!

HELGA BALL:  Helga Ball is a Ladies Only game that combines aspects of rugby, soccer, and wrestling based on a game from Roman times that was used to train Legionnaires.  Gentlemen act as the goal posts (the game is too rough for gentlemen to play).  We will be looking for Ladies interested in playing, gentlemen interested in being Goal Posts, and anyone else who might want to be support staff. Please contact Ntisa at NtisaFarstrider@gmail.com
