WAIT!  Are you thinking of all the events that you could camp at? Well here is another one to add to your list.  Barony of Iron Bog here cordially invite one and all to join us at River War.  We try to offer a well rounded family fun weekend. 

Please check back often for updates as this event grows. 
Some of the fun that is on the idea board will involve:

Fighting - Friday night- A torch light tourney. 
Saturday - Tourney and melee
Saturday night yes Saturday night - Armored Champions of the Southern Region!  A tourney has been set to discover which of you will be the Sword of the South.  If you are a armored champion of a geographical group in the Southern region You have gained entrance.  Come test your mettle.  Find the finest one among you.

Fencing- Planning a day of single and melee to exhaust you all.
The day will start off with a dual of Champions.  Teams will be formed to play a capture the flag melee.  The field will true be broken up and "HOT" - broken and hot by "lava" Yes the Lava Otters are back for the last few run through of this melee.  Following this fun a tourney format TBD.  Please bring shade covering and seats to help with your comfort through the day. 

Equestrians - Iron bog wishes to continue given honors to the riders and four legged athletes by hold a "Ride for the Baroness" Champions ride.  If you wish to bring your horse(s) to this event, please contact the equestrian marshal-in-charge prior to the event.  All horses attending the event must have a current Coggins test, and horses traveling from outside New Jersey must have a current 30-day interstate health certificate, per SCA Equestrian regulations.  Equine health paperwork can be transmitted to the marshal-in-charge chestnutmare@gmail.com -Baroness Doucette de Verdun in advance Sorry, no rental horses are currently available for this event.

Archery - The Baron and Baroness are on a quest to find the owner of the straightest flying arrows.  This skilled bowmen will stand as the Champion of Iron Bog. 

Thrown Weapons - The Barony of Bhakail and The Barony of Iron Bog will be have a tourney to determine the next baronial Champion.  Will you be the one to rise to this Challenge. 

Artisans Row - Once again We would like to offer the artisans a place to come share their knowledge.  TEACHERS please come teach share your knowledge.  If you would be interested please send word so we can schedule.

A&S Competition:  Colors provide more than just a means to making beautiful art, the symbolism they hold can completely the entire meaning of a piece.  For example, red may symbolize luck, passion, violence, love, fire, or any number of other things.  White in European cultures represents purity, while in Chinese culture, is the color of mourning.  For this competition, create a piece of art from any culture or period (within the bounds of the SCA) that uses colors to add to or change the symbolism held within the piece.  All entries should include at least half a page explaining how the colors used would add meaning in the culture of the piece.  Tell us why you used the colors you did and how they affect the piece you created. 

Food - Friday night after you settle in stop up and have a bit to eat.  We know that the day has been long so allow us to take care of you with a small mundane dinner. 

Saturday/Sunday morning there will be a small simple get you start kind of breakfast.  Please note In order for you to have day board (lunch) on Saturday you Must PRE REG August 30th; If you do not pre-reg, you will not be counted in the numbers for day board/lunch. 
Yes, there will be a dinner that Saturday evening as well.

No cutting of live trees for fire wood
