|The Barony of Settmour Swamp invites all to come and celebrate the 24th annual thawing of the mud! This year, Mudthaw will be held at the beautiful and spacious Saalam Shrine Center in Livingston N.J. Our new site has ample room for many diverse activities and challenging tournaments for everyone's amusement.|
As is our tradition, there will be a double-elimination combat tournament, youth fighter tournament, and fencing tourney. For the heavy weapons, the lists close at 11:30am and the tourney will begin promptly at noon, and for those eliminated from the lists who wish to continue to hone their skills, there will be a bearpit. The youth tourney lists will close at 11:15am, and the tourney begins at 11:45am, to be followed with melees and pickups. With fencing the tournament will be in a round-robin format,"epee" default. The lists open at 10am, close at 11am, with the tourney starting promptly at 11:30am. There will be oportunities for authorizations before the tourney, and there will be space available for pick-ups and melees planned after the tourney. It is our pleasure to announce that we will also have a archery range and tournament, as well as thrown weapons. The archery range will open at 10:30am for warmup and will have a tournament with prizes given to the highest scoring archer. For those inclined to the gentler arts, inside the hall there will be an A&S tournament with diverse categories, to be judged by the populace, as well as A&S demonstrations in a variety of disciplines.
The site being pleasently damp as any good swamp should be, there will be a brewing contest. There will also be gaming tables open throughout the day, and our first annual Emrys memorial gaming tournament.
Many merchants will be offering their wares throughout the day, and entertainers are cordially welcomed to perform. Lady Damiana will serve a hearty dayboard for all gentles in attendance.
After the days activities, Baronial Court will be held with a gracious company of the Royal Heirs, where prizes will be awarded to the tournament champions. A sumptuous feast prepared by Lady Elisabetta Maldestro will follow in the lower hall, after which dancing and revelry shall finish the day in the upper hall.

From the Garden State Parkway: take exit 145 to Route 280 West. Go 7.5 miles to exit 5A for Livingston. The exit will put you onto Route 527/Livingston Ave. Travel South on Route 527 for 1.3 miles to the junction of Route 10/Mt. Pleasant Ave. Turn left onto Route 10 East, the site is 1.3 miles down the road on the left.
From Route 287: take the exit for Route 10 East (from 287 south-exit 39, from 287 north-exit 39A). Proceed 8.7 miles,the site is on the left.
Public Transport: Livingston unfortunately does not have any nearby rail service. NJ Transit Bus 73 from Newark Penn Station travels along Route 10 in Livingston, please refer to www.njtransit.com for further info.
