Event details

** At the Sign of the Cat and Dragon is now SOLD OUT.  If you have any questions, please contact the Autocrat.  **

Come, weary traveler, and rest in the warmth and friendship at The Sign of the Cat and Dragon.  Once again, we will descend upon the Ratskeller at the German Society of Philadelphia for a day of music, games, friendship, and amazing food and drink.  His Excellency, Baron Rowen Cloteworthy, will take the opportunity to choose his new Baronial Gaming and Bardic Champions - anyone in a territory bordering Bhakail is welcome to compete, but all who join us at Tavern are more than welcome to play!

Our head cook Maryna Borowska will offer a hearty Slavic menu to warm and comfort your soul on these cold, bitter days.  This site is wet but the Barony will not provide alcohol.  However, Black Boot Brewers Mael Eoin Mac Echuidh and Osric Feologildsson (with special guest brewer Edgar Refskegg) will be on-hand to share the products of their recent brewing adventures.  If you would like to share your own, there will be space dedicated to do so.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged as the site is limited to 60 guests.  You can pre-register by PayPal or by sending a check to Mistress Philadelphia.

The menu for the Sign of the Cat and Dragon is as follows.  If you have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions, please contact our head cook Maryna at 244887@members.eastkingdom.org.

Cold Snacks - bread, cheese, pickles, apples, hard-boiled eggs
Beer Soup with Cheese
Vegetable Soup
Potato and Cheese Pierogi with Fried Onions
Cucumber Salad
Sauerkraut with Sausage and Bacon
Chicken Baked with Prunes
Rosemary Garlic Potatoes
Court Dish of Baked Fruit

Lord Cailin Macsalny has declared his challenge for the next Baronial Gaming Champion.  You will play for the honor of representing Bhakail throughout the year, as well as in our yearly chess match against the Barony of Flaming Griffin during Pennsic.  Points will be awarded for a win in each game, so come test your skill!

Gentle Juliana Bird will join us to host this year’s Baronial Bardic Challenge.  It will consist of three rounds -
First, make me feel!  (a piece with emotion; happy, sad, angry, have us feel something!).  Second, make me learn!  (a piece that is pre-1650, and give a small blurb about the history).  And last, make me love!  (a favorite piece, show what made you fall in love with bardic and performance).  Prepare your best!
